11th Avenue SE Build

A groundbreaking ceremony was held July 14th to commence the construction of a twin home at 821 and 823 11th Ave. SE in St. Cloud. Following a lengthy application and training process, not to mention the required hundreds of hours of sweat equity, two partner families and volunteers will now see their hard work begin to take shape.

“We are very excited and grateful to be working with Thrivent Build again this year,” said Bruce Johnson, Executive Director of Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity. “This partnership has already been instrumental in moving eight Central Minnesota families into safe, decent and affordable housing over the past four years.”

In Central Minnesota, Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity projects are underway in Big Lake and St. Cloud. Families have been selected and are already building required sweat equity and participating in homeowner training toward the happy day when they become homeowners later this year.

“There aren’t many programs that bring communities together like this one,” said Judy Dinger, Thrivent Financial Thrivent Builds Specialist. “The energy and excitement this program generates is inspiring and contagious!”

We're finishing up at 11th Ave SE now! The dedication to welcome two new families into their homes, just in time for the holidays, took place on Wednesday, November 11th and the home closing was on Wednesday, November 24th.
