What Does it Mean to Volunteer?
To volunteer, at the literal level, means to offer yourself to willingly perform a service without pay. However, there is much more to it than that. To volunteer means to fully give yourself, give up on how the act benefits you and work towards serving a mission. At Habitat, we work to put people in need into safe, decent, and affordable housing so they have a secure foundation to pursue a higher quality of life. Without volunteers, this would not be possible.
