The 6th annual Women Build was a huge success. Kris Nelson with Custom Accents, and Diane Willenbring with Willenbring Construction lead the fantastic task force of raising funds to finish a bargain priced home for a family in need.
The week-long celebration brings women together from all sectors of the community and all walks of life to work toward eliminating poverty housing conditions.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to have our Women Build volunteers work on a foreclosure property,” says Bruce Johnson, Executive Director of CMHFH. “We recognize the possibility to simultaneously serve families more affordably and bolster the housing market.”
Women Build involved over 100 volunteers in the tasks of planning, fundraising, building awareness and actually constructing a Habitat Home.
“It’s really amazing to see women of all different backgrounds coming together to learn together in a non-threatening environment. Through this opportunity, so many local women have come away equipped with the skills to fight poverty housing in our community,” expressed Bruce Johnson.
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program that encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. Women Build provides an environment in which women can feel comfortable learning construction skills they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn.
Monetary and volunteer contributions to Women Build are vital to our success. Women Build offers many easy opportunities to become involved.

Individual Giving-Circle of Women: Individual women in our community are coming together to make a commitment to Women Build as Circle of Women members. They have each given at least $1,000 toward the construction of this year's Women Build Home as a testimony to their faith in the power of Women Build and Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity to transform lives and strengthen our community for men, women, and children alike. We invite you to be a part of this amazing and diverse group of women.
